Well, I've been freelance
now for over 6 months and it has been an excitng, if slightly bumpy
ride. It started with a call out of the blue to make costumes for a new
production of Great Expectations, which has now moved into the West End,
then went a little quiet (nerve-wracking!) to get very busy again when
everyone wanted to go on holiday!.During December and January the
workroom saw 1960's suits for One Man Two Guvnors, 1940's dinner suits
for Medea, uniforms for The Captain of Kopenick, Doublet and Breeches
for a new exhibit as well as a couple more pieces for Great
Expectations, the upshot of which is that I've discovered I much prefer
working as part of a team, rather than solo, and would like to say a big
thank you to everyone who helped out. Luckily I now have this lovely
little studio @ Wimbledon Art Studios in Earlsfield, which is friendly
and convenient and which gives me the space to bring in skilled
assistants when the work allows. Onwards and upwards they say and I'm
looking forward to the next challenge!
